Shinnfans,
I sat down last night under the inspiration of Chief Isidro Cartagena to start working on my Coast Guard memoirs. Before I go too much farther, I need to know this: How much would YOU pay for a professionally-bound hard back signed first edition?
Waiting with baited breath,
Andrew
That would be VERY special. I don’t know what price tag I would put on it, though. I’m sure the families of the men (and woman) would buy copies too! I love you.
This one would actually just be my experiences in the Coast Guard, not just this trip. Thanks for the vote of confidence!
Humm… I’ll start the bet at $10.00. 🙂 I think you’ll have better luck with by selling the “1st edition, only copy …” I would enjoy the read!
My, aren’t we opportunistic. Charging your family to hear about your experiences?
Not that I wouldn’t want to hear about them (as evidenced by the fact that I check your blog at least thrice daily), but paying? That’s for strangers.
JRS
Andrew: I have to go along with Jonathan – I would read it and enjoy it – but pay my eldest Grandson for the privelege? You write it – I will cherish it!!!!
for free!!!!!
Family, family, family,
Always wanting something for nothing. I wasn’t actually soliciting you to buy it; I was merely conducting a little market research (or at least attempting to do so). Plus, it’s very expensive to publish a hardback book. I was just seeing if I would be able to afford to publish it. Alas, since no one’s willing to pay to see the book, I’m abandoning the work as a waste of time and a lost cause.
Despairingly,
Andrew
Grandson, grandson, grandson!!! If for free is 2001 sleepless nights, 2498 prayers uttered and reuttered, 678 griddles cakes, floral decorations for a very large wedding and on and on, then I bow my head in shame – however, that is just the beginning of the list so think carefully about useing the “for free” – however, in retrospect, I would have it no other way. All the prayers were worth it, the griddle cakes are long gone and the wedding flowers live on in many photographs and memories – all is forgiven – but I still want the book for nothing – if it ever happens. With much love and heaps of blessings on you my eldest grandson,
Grandma Mitzi
Well, Andrew’s Family,
Reading through these comments made me give out a short, but loud laugh while in the confines of Cubicle-World, which has brought a ray of light into my cubed existence….:) so, I’m just being mostly dramatic, but I did enjoy the laugh! I would also enjoy reading about it…and I would be willing to pay as much as I’m paying for internet access to be able to read all about it! 😉
peace,
Jeff Bergeson
