  1. “Winning the battle for hearts, minds, shins, and ankles” should be the theme of the last few weeks’ photos.

There are several that I particularly like. The futbol shots are great. I’m bummed that you didn’t post the “Mind tricks” photo. The ones I like most are:
a.) the shot of the ball being headed
b.) Member of the Beninese Marines kicking the ball
c.) Ensign Scott Mitchell kicks up some dust
d.) Members of the Beninese fishing fleet
e.) A member of the Beninese fishing fleet

    Great work!

Who do you guys play, I mean visit, next?

  2. Andrew, Starting Saturday night we check Fred’s Place every so often in anticipation of the next week’s posting! We love this week’s. A couple of my favorites:
    1. The member of the Beninese marines kicking the ball
    2. The lone fisherman (great shot, it says so much)
    3. Maykal Manresa shot (I like how you blurred everyone else’s face on both teams with him in the center being a clear face!)
    4. I like the picture of Sam Sprenkle standing security watch (his family will like it, too, I’m sure!
Thanks for the pictures, Andrew. It is so awesome we can be a part of your journey like this! How ’bout a picture of you? Pleeaasse??? MommyGirl

  3. Like your Mom, I like the lone fisherman. The plastic bucket, etc. The old and the new!!!!! I enjoy all the pictures and like your parents, we start checking in on Sat. hoping that the pictures are up. The soccer pictures are also very good, the shoes in the dust speak volumes, worn shoes, dirt, sweat, etc., etc. Love them all and what a nice thing for the parents, friends, girl friends, wives, families you are making happy. Could we have a picture of our favorite Coastie, Please?!!!!!!

  7. I want one too!!!!!! Can’t forget about your auntie!! Waiting for the picture of our favorite Coastie!

  8. RS,
Someone died. I forgot who it was, but I’m sure it was someone important. The flag is at half-mast for a long time for this dead important person throughout the armed services and the federal government. How very observant of you!

  9. Andrew: How interesting!!!! When the picture came and I showed it to Grampa the first thing I mentioned to him was that the flag in the rear was at half mast and I could not figure out who important had died. So JRS, you beat me to it, but I TOO am observant!!!! Ha!

  10. Andrew, the flag at half mast. Would that be for General Westmoreland? I listened to a little of his bio and he certainly sounds like a soldier’s general, a fine man by the accounts I have heard, probably a hero among some. Could it be? MommyGirl Good observation Rachel! Score!
