Car accident in Reedley
Two cars collided at the corner of G and 11th Street this morning. Both were going fast and one ran a red light, according to witnesses. Everyone got out of the cars alive and without serious injury. Here are some photos:

Reedley Fiesta Art Show entry
Hi, Shinnfans,
It’s time for another game of ‘Shinnfans choose something really important for me.’ No, I’m not turning over naming rights for our next baby. Instead, I’d like to solicit your opinion on an art piece I plan to enter in the Reedley Fiesta Art Show Oct 11. I have one piece picked out, and it’s a piece I refuse to put online. I’ll only show it in person. But I’m allowed two submissions, and I’d like to have YOU take a look at my alternatives and vote for your favorite. Here are the rules:
- Leave a comment on this post with your vote
That’s the only rule. Feel free to discuss the relative merits of the pieces and explain your choice. I’ll take it all into account.
Cheers,
Andrew
Truck Rollover
Last night, an 18-wheeler with a full load of grape bins rolled over at the corner of I Street and Manning Avenue in Reedley, Calif. I assume the driver was hurt, but I’m sure I would have heard if he had been killed. The truck was successfully righted by local towing companies and the Reedley Fire Department. Thanks to the good men and women of Reedley Fire for their good work tonight and cooperation as I took these photos.

Reedley Downtown Association
If you look closely, you may see a familiar hand at work in the creation of this new web site: www.reedleydowntown.com. I put it up last night. Let me know what you think! Anything else that may belong on a downtown association web site that isn’t there?
Tired,
Andrew

Abundant Harvest Organics
Lisa and I are excited to be chosen as Abundant Harvest Organics’s (how do you pluralize that?!) hosts in Reedley! Abundant Harvest Organics (new window) is a family effort that brings the farmer’s market to your family on a weekly basis.
I received our first box of food this week, and I’m overwhelmed by the quality and selection. I ate my first raw beet today, and I’m ready to swear off wasabi peas for good. We have so many good vegetables I’m not sure what we’ll do with them all. Luckily, each week’s box come with a few recipes suggestions. If you’d like to preview Abundant Harvest’s produce, join Lisa and I tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) at our house from 3:30 pm to 5 pm for a tasting party. It’s an informal affair; please don’t bring gifts for the fruit. (They’re so hard to shop for, anyway!)
Artist Reception
Fresh Start Cafe in Reedley has invited me to display a few prints and offered to host an artist reception on Monday, June 25 at 7 p.m. Y’all are invited and welcome to come! Knowing Fresh Start, there will be some tasty morsels available for consumption, and a good time will be had by all.
See you there,
Andrew
